ResMed's AirCurve 11 ASV adjusts to your individual breathing patterns as they change during the night. The algorithm, called adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV*), detects when you stop breathing and provides a breath.

* ASV therapy is contraindicated in patients with chronic, symptomatic heart failure (NYHA 2-4) with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF ≤ 45%) and moderate to severe predominant central sleep apnea.

I have found that the sound of the air movement is so loud, I put a pillow over the machine to mute the sound so I can sleep.
